Pengyi Yang, PhD, Group Leader
I’m a DECRA Fellow at the University of Sydney. I received my PhD in Bioinformatics from School of Information Technologies, The University of Sydney (USyd), in 2012. I then moved to the United States and undertook an interdisciplinary Research Fellowship in Systems Biology at the National Institutes of Health. After being awarded a University of Sydney Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2015, I returned to Australia to pursue my independent research in Systems Biology. I’m now a Senior Lecturer in School of Mathematics and Statistics, USyd, and I started my own group (https://pengyiyang.github.io) in Charles Perkins Centre (CPC) in 2017. My group works on developing computational and statistical approaches to understand trans-omic networks that cut across cell signalling, epigenomics and transcriptional regulation that underlie cellular identity and cell-fate decisions. Giving the interdisciplinary nature of our research, my group collaborates closely with biologists within CPC, USyd, and internationally.
